about
The Asian Fashion Archive is a digital platform dedicated to showcasing the rich heritage of Asian fashion, culture, and history.
Founded in response to the anti-Asian racism and negative stereotypes that emerged prominently in 2020, this project is driven by a commitment to combat these harmful narratives and amplify the rich and varied stories of Asian communities. As an academic, professional, and Asian American, I was motivated to create this project to provide a more nuanced and positive representation of Asian cultures.
The Asian Fashion Archive is more than a digital humanities project, but has grown to be a community where like-minded individuals can come together to share a passion for Asian culture and fashion. Here, you will find a diverse range of resources that not only educates, but empowers, while highlighting the unique contributions and experiences of Asian cultures.
I encourage you to engage with the content, share your thoughts, and contribute to this growing platform. Your feedback and participation are essential to continue celebrating the beauty and diversity of Asian culture and fashion.
